OUT OF THE BLUE

When we say,
‘It came out of the blue,’
we don’t mean
‘out of the blue’
because the ‘blue’ is a something
and when we say ‘it came out of the blue’
we mean it came out of nothing.
But that something should come out of nothing
makes our heads spin.
It’s like standing on the edge of the universe
and asking, ‘where do we go from here?’
or at the end of time
and wondering what’s next.
Better not to say,
‘It came out of the blue.’
If we want to say sane.
